No cd or dvd drive!!

When i open "My Computer" i only have "A" & "C" drives, not "D" & "E", also when the computer boots up the diagnostic screen says...
CD ROM...N/A
It has an american megatrend bios which has been messed with, any ideas if i can reset the bios to default or any other fix for this please?

There should be a restore to defaults option in the BIOS, I assume it worked fine before the BIOS problem?
