USB question

Hello every one :D
I just bought a used, I think 5-6 years old Dell laptop. And of course I am expiriencing a few problems...
When I plug in an MP3 player or a USB a small box appears in the right lower corner saying 'this device can perform faster'. I don't know much 'bout computers and programs so I would appreciate some advice, help. My friends told me to download a driver for USB 2.0 but I don't know which one or where to find a good driver. :roll:

It's likely that your laptop doesn't have USB 2.0 ports and only ones that comply to the older 1.1 standard, if this is the case then you will need more than just a driver. If you can tell us which model of Dell laptop it is we can check for you ;)
