MMSYSTEM032 error running Winamp

I've had this problem before and I found a site with an article on how to fix it by doing some things in the system ini files. It worked but have experienced the problem again since reformating. I had it working, it then errored, fixed by refreshing the driver, and now it's dead again. The error I am getting is this: Unsupported PCM format (44100Hz, 16 bits per sample, 2 channels). Please change format settings in input plug-in config or change output device in waveOut plug-in config. I have tried both of these and they don't work. Any suggestions?
