wireless network lost after shut-down

Hi, Now have Sky/BT wireless internet provider, have 3 Edimax USB wireless adapters which works ok on my other desktop computers, one Xp Proff,the other Windows 7 Ultimate, everything up to date, all having the full Kaskperski Internet Securit iy installed and all these haveall the latest updates but needs to re-installed everytime I user my IBM A21m Think Pad,the Sky Internet is unavailable,sometimes telling me that do not have an IP address,I have tried to use a program I obtained from the internet which re-installs the ip address but that will not correct this so I have to re-configure the Sky internet which doen`t seem to be saved after I shut down. Any ideas, please? Thanks Dave

i think the box sky are shipping is a linskys ?

you need to read the routers pre set settings, IE the ones put in by sky.
you may find that under wif it has a lease time and kicks you off once that time is up.

if you can find out what router sky shipped out to you i would download the full manual and have a read.
i am sure its a linskys i remember reading it somewhere but can't remember what one it was.
