Sound Card Problem? => Win2000 SP4

I have a problem with both the multimedia audio controller and the PCI simple communications controller after installing win2000. There is no sound from my laptop. No audio icon on the taskbar. all related audio applications are greyed out.

I am having difficulty in finding relevant driver names / device names etc .. they're not recognised when i use the device manager etc.. they come under other devices with a yellow question mark => when I check the properties of the device it tells me the drivers are not installed code28 & yet the device is enabled?

I have ran downloaded AIDA32 to help identify the problem but I am unsure of what I should be looking out for?! ?I can run reports if this is of help. Does SoundMAX sound like a card?

Other info = Laptop Model Advent 7250 => can anyone help?

This is what Advent's website says :-

"Your computer uses the Yamaha OPL3 audio codec to provide sound on your personal computer."

The driver at the bottom of this page should work :-

It also has a Rockwell SoftK56 modem, which is what the PCI simple communications controller is.

Just to let everyone know that I have now resolved this Sound card problem. I downloaded a driver for Intel AC'97 Codec for Win2000 - it seems to have done the job. I hope this will be use to others.
