I have just built a PC from scratch using a Gigbyte GA7VAX Socket A motherboard with an Athlon XP2200 processor. The PC will not boot. At first I thought it nay be the graphics card as apparently there are some compatibility issues with this board. However, I have tried 3 other AGP cards and a PCI graphics card to no avail. I have removed the BIOS battery to reset the board and I have also tried a different processor (AMD Duron) without luck. Is it possible that the processor socket itself is damaged?
