looking for sony cd driver

i was getting ready to do a reinstall of some software when i came to the realization
that my computer had lost my cd-rom drive

and i'm having trouble finding the driver (for sony model cdu511-f)

even at sony.com!

does anyone have a copy of it?

can you tell me where to get it?

we would really appreciate anything you could do to help us find it!

There isn't a driver for each specific CD-Rom driver, Windows just uses a generic one.

The chances are it's something else causing the problem such as the cable or the settings on the back of the drive.

Is the drive on a cable on it's own or does it share it with another device?

Is it set to Master, Slave or Cable Select?
