DVD needs ASPI

I have a Gateway tower with an LG HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4120B DVD ROM. When trying to play a DVD, I get an error message that says "ASPI for Windows not available". Please can you advise what I need to do. If I need to download a driver, where could I find one, and would it be free?
