DVD BURNING PROBLEMS READ ON, MOSTLY SOLVED......

Hi all, well I have had a torid time just like lots of other people with burning dvds with the drive not recognising the disk, seems familiar well I'm no tech head but think I have more info than most tech heads to solve the prolem, read on......
There are 3 types of disks - + and ram yep minus plus and ram thats the easy bit, second there are three versions within them too, version one 1-2x version 2 1-4x and version three just to be released if not already done 1-8x and guess what, version one disks dont generally work in 2 or 3 types and so on, so if you have a 1x or 2 x disk only buy disks that read 1-2x disks 1-4x will not work etc etc etc hope I have made myself clear if your stuck call your local tdk number for more info they are far more helpfull than bloody toshiba......
