sound card serial numbers

can somebody help? i recently had a complete uninstall and re-install of my system....everything came back as it should, except when running the sound card CD, it asks for a product serial number, and having tried a couple of different ones that appear on the CD, i keep getting the message that the number is incorrect! has anyone got any ideas on this?

It would be helpful to know what sound card you are using ;)

Have you spoken to the manufacturers tech support department?
