Please someone help as soon as possible, it is doing my head in, I have tried so many different things to get this working, None help

Also, just to add to the previous info. I am using Nero 5.5 and on loading Nero, it sees the cdrw drive, but when trying to write something to disk it brings up a window saying please insert empty disk. When you clear away this window it aborts the cd writing. This happens on both the satellite 3000 and my desktop computer, (both using XP home).
Please someone help as soon as possible, it is doing my head in, I have tried so many different things to get this working, None help

No it does not see any disk, it does not read any or write any.
