Printer Driver/Internet printing problems

I maintain windows 98, The printer is a compaq IJ300, computer is Compaq Presario. The problem I experience is: Nothing prints directly from the internet, I have to copy text and paste it into NOTEPAD. It will not copy to Micro-Word, or Works. Remedy-I want to just print from the internet. I have tried multiple sites, IT IS NOT A COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. IE-5 is my current internet program. Help
