Wanted Epson Stylus Color 685 Printer Driver

Hi Folks

Been searching all day and cannot find a driver that will work. It is not in the Installation wizard on my machine (Win2000 pro) and Epson say they do not have one !!

Can any one help with a driver please or is there some way round it using a generic driver ??

where on C drive are the printer drivers to be found ... would it be possible to copy the one I need from someone else's system and insert it on my drive so the wizard can find it ??

Hope someone can help as I am tearing my hair out here

epson are saying this printer is plug and play under windows 2k.
it should be built in the o/s or one of its service packs if you have not loaded all the service packs for win 2k please do so from windows update.

go online and then plug the printer in and switch it on the found hardware wizard will search both the windows driver cabs plus windows update for any possible driver.

if all else fails try loading up the windows me driver from this link.
windows me had parts of windows 2k in it thats why it was such a bugger for printers and scanners at the time.

I am feelin' pretty ill today (I have chronic pancreatitis ) and my brain is scrambled with painkillers but I will have a go at your suggestions as soon as I can and will report back.
