no sound device

Hello.

i have an IQON.IE desktop.

had to reinstall windows xp

no it tells me no sound device.

i used a dell xp cd to reinstall.

any help would be most helpful.

what is the model number of your pc ?

IQON do not offer a direct download of drivers so i will see if i can find the spec sheet and do it that way.

ok your in luck as thats a gigabyte motherboard you can download all the main drivers direct from gigabyte and bypass iqon.

llittle tip install the main chipset driver first and restart the pc before you load up the sound.

ok i get this message when install the audio driver......


VIA AC97 audio chipset is not enabled on this system ! please enable it first on the BIOS then run this setup again.

Some systems give you the option of disabling on-board devices in the BIOS, sounds like this is the case with yours. When you first turn on your computer it should give you a prompt to press a certain key to get into Setup, this is normally F2, F12 or Del. Press whichever key it mentions and have a look through the setup screens for on-board devices and see if audio has been disabled.
